Brass hilt in the North European style with oak leaf tendrils to the knuckle bow and Star and crescent to the langetes Wire wrapped black leather grip. 34 5/8” straight broad fullered blade, influenced by the evolving style of cavalry which favored the straight thrust rather than the slashing stroke traditionally fabored by the Turks. Excellent. The relief work of the hilt particularly deep and retaining much original gold.
