Original Item: Only One Available. United States Army Air Force B-17 Flying Fortress bomber crewman kit galley with accessories and data plate that reads:
KIT, GALLEY (AIRCRAFT) TYPE C-2 – SPEC. NO 94-40403 ORDER NO. W535 ac 27433 MFR’S ASSEMBLY PART NO. 12684 HELMCO, INC – CHICAGO U.S.A. PROPERTY, AIR FORCES, U.S. ARMY
Approximate size- 15” x 10” x 30” tin chest with removable section containing two removable round 6x 7 high enameled lidded containers and a 6 x 8 hot plate. Includes plug in coffee pot, pots, salt/pepper shaker and other various accessories, including a spring closed canvas top and the power cord. We have not tested this so can not verify it is in working condition.
These C-2 Galley kits were used on long cold flights over Europe to provide hot coffee, oatmeal and the like to tired and freezing crew members. Very rare and hard to find.
