Description
Bright contrasting true gold on dark green. Meiji Period, 19th century. 4 5/8” diameter. The bowl with recurved profile and domed cover with a charming legendary scene of a man filling a cup from a mountain waterfall. His sickle is tied to bundles of reeds that he has harvested and he rewards himself with a drink. Profuse foliage and rocky mountain terrain. Fine execution in bright colors and exc.+ preservation.
